The week after Christmas and before New Years is always a messy one. We’re often conflicted with such a weird mindset. On one hand, we’re tired of all the junk food we’ve eaten, the big meal that made us feel so bloated, and the activity that we probably were setting off to the side.
On the other hand, we’re excited that the New Year is coming in, and we’re starting to think about what’s ahead. You’re looking a little differently at the choices you are making. You might feel a little “over-it” about all the junk food that still remains in the house, or the containers upon containers of leftovers that are in the fridge. You’re feeling excited about the NY coming. Hopeful. Inspired.
Let’s be very specific about what we do. While I’m not asking you to lay out your goals for the New Year, I want you to be proactive about what you do this week to set yourself up for the incoming new year.
And that can look like anything. It can mean clearing out the treats and giving them to your extended family members so they’re out of the house. It could mean buying yourself a planner and a new pen if you’re a stationary geek, preparing to start brainstorming for the new year. It might mean that you start to look ahead on your fitness plan, and map out what the next couple of months is going to look like for you with that.
So I’ll leave you with one question as you think about these thoughts today —
How can I help?
