Tell us about yourself, hobbies, interests, family, job, etc.

I’m from Monroe, Michigan graduating from Monroe High School(87 😳 ) …. I have two amazing daughters Brooke and Bailee….and married to my beautiful wife Lindsey. I own Monroe Jiu Jitsu and teach almost everyday of the week….for the last 22 years Jiu Jitsu has been a huge part of my life so if I’m not doing CrossFit I’m on the mat. Family, friends, working out, training, having fun and Jiu Jitsu is my life in a nutshell….

How long have you been doing CrossFit?

Approximately 7 months…..have enjoyed every step of the way!

What do you remember about your first CrossFit experience?

I remember everyone at LTF was very welcoming and Coach Bill definitely had open arms which made it very easy for me to decide to sign up and continue.

What do you most enjoy about CrossFit?

I enjoy the structure and guidance …. and it’s a great way to start the day!

What do you most enjoy about being part of Light the Fire CrossFit family?

Seeing so many people living a healthy lifestyle and encouraging each other to do their best and never give up.

What motivates you to come to the box?

I’ve always been pretty motivated so it’s not an issue to show up….I love training for longevity so showing up is a must…. train for life.

What is you most recent PR/biggest accomplishment?

Nothing really sticks out….I just love showing up and getting the work done…and it’s awesome to see others do well.

What is your favorite wod, lift, movement, or skill?

The goal is to make all of them my favorite but right now I definitely like running, rowing, wall balls, T. Willy burpees 😁, bench press, pushups and ab work.

What is your least favorite wod, lift, movement, or skill?

Everyday is senior day for me 😁 so I don’t really have a least favorite….but if I had to pick one…the couch stretch and stretching isn’t my strong suit.

What is your current CrossFit goal?

Train forever and use the training to help keep the injury bug away….I also train/teach Brazilian Jiu Jitsu 6+ X’s per week so staying healthy is the key.

What would you tell a newbie or someone that has never done CrossFit?

Just try a class and make sure to do what YOU can do….and always have good communication with the coaches.

How has CrossFit affected your life outside of the box?

It’s helped me with my schedule and gives me a workout with guidance….I coach Jiu Jitsu all day so it’s nice to come workout with good knowledge coaches giving me the direction!
